Existence of a unique solution for a third-order boundary value problem with nonlocal conditions of integral type

The existence of a unique solution for a third-order boundary value problem with integral condition is proved in several ways. The main tools in the proofs are the Banach fixed point theorem and the Rus’s fixed point theorem. To compare the applicability of the obtained results, some examples are considered.

AbstractMany aging theories and their related molecular mechanisms have been proposed. Simple model organisms such as yeasts, worms, fruit flies and others have massively contributed to their clarification, and many genes and pathways have been associated with longevity regulation. Among them, insulin/IGF-1 plays a key and evolutionary conserved role. Interestingly, dietary interventions can modulate this pathway. Calorie restriction (CR), intermittent fasting, and protein and amino acid restriction prolong the lifespan of mammals by IGF-1 regulation. In this paper we propose a solution as support for quality systems for production software. The motivation behind this study was to reduce that cost in the production area caused by gaps in the quality of the production software. A soft-quadrumer model for diblock copolymers

We present a new soft-particle type model for diblock copolymers and compare its phase diagram to experimental data as well as to results of other models. To determine the phase diagram we suggest studying geometrical characteristics of the mesophases. Diblock copolymer mesophases differ by the number and geometrical form of clusters of the two components formed in the mesophase. The form of these clusters can be characterized by values of the principle components of their gyration tensor and shape invariants determined from them. An application of a charge of the substituent active region concept to 1-Y,4-X-disubstituted derivatives of bicyclo[2.2.2]octane (BCO) [where Y = NO2, COOH, OH, and NH2 and X = NMe2, NH2, OH, OMe, Me, H, F, Cl, CF3, CN, CHO, COMe, CONH2, COOH, NO2, and NO] provides a quantitative information on the inductive component of the substituent effect (SE). It is shown that the effect is highly additive but dependent on the kind of substituents. An application of the SE stabilization energy characteristics to 1,4-disubstituted derivatives of BCO and benzene allows the definition of inductive and resonance contributions to the overall SE. Quark Structure of the X (4500), X (4700) and χc(4P,5P) States

We study some of the main properties (masses and open-flavor strong decay widths) of 4P and 5P charmonia. While there are two candidates for the χc0(4P,5P) states, the X(4500) and X(4700), the properties of the other members of the χc(4P,5P) multiplets are still completely unknown. With this in mind, we start to explore the charmonium interpretation for these mesons. Our second goal is to investigate if the apparent mismatch between the Quark Model (QM) predictions for χc0(4P,5P) states and the properties of the X(4500) and X(4700) mesons can be overcome by introducing threshold corrections in the QM formalism. Predictions from warped flavor dynamics based on the T′ family group

We propose a realistic theory of fermion masses and mixings using a five-dimensional warped scenario where all fermions propagate in the bulk and the Higgs field is localized on the IR brane. The assumed $T'$ flavor symmetry is broken on the branes by flavon fields, providing a consistent scenario where fermion mass hierarchies arise from adequate choices of the bulk mass parameters, while quark and lepton mixing angles are restricted by the family symmetry. Search for Charged Higgs Bosons Decaying into Top and Bottom Quarks in pp Collisions

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2009-05-14 We describe a search for production of a charged Higgs boson, qq̄′→H+, reconstructed in the tb̄ final state in the mass range 180≤MH+≤300GeV. The search was undertaken at the Fermilab Tevatron collider with a center-of-mass energy s=1.96TeV and uses 0.9fb-1 of data collected with the D0 detector. We find no evidence for charged Higgs boson production and set upper limits on the production cross section in the types I, II, and III two-Higgs-doublet models (2HDMs).
